TIP PRESSURE

20lbs.   Residual Pump Pressure at Panel

50lbs.   Hand Held Smooth Bore @ Tip

80lbs.   Master Stream Smooth Bore @ Tip

100lbs  All Fog Tips  @ Tip

Blue Lines give Foam or water

Red Lines give Water
4" Line is 1,500' Supply  1,100 on L1
EP = NP + FL + AL +/- EL
What the Engine Pressure(EP) needs to be set at is determined by the Nozzle(NP) that you need to achieve (50,80,100) + Pressure needed to be added to over come Friction Loss(FL), plus pressure to be added to over come Appliance Loss(AL) and then add or subtract pressure based on how far you are pushing water up or down in Elavation(EL-+)
Appliance Loss

Master Stream Device  = 15-25psi

Standpipe            =   25psi + EL

Wye                    =   5psi

Siamese              =   10psi
Elevation Loss

Per Story    = 5psi +/- EL

Per 10'        =  5psi +/- EL

Friction Loss per 100' Length

1 3/4"    100 GPM = 10psi FL for first length then 10psi for every 25GPM after

2 1/2"    GPM Drop last digit and subtract 10 (If Flowing <399GPM)

4"   @ 500GPM = 5psi... @ 700GPM=10psi... @ 1,000GPM = 20psi

<500GPM
500-999GPM
1,000 - 1,499 GPM
1,500+  GPM

Tip Size GPM
1 1/4" = 400

1 3/8" = 500

1½"    = 600

1 5/8" = 700

1¾"    = 800

1 7/8" = 900

2"     = 1000

PUMP SMOOTH BORE MASTER STREAMS AT 80PSI and you will get the GPM listed
When Relaying Water

Add 20PSI Residual to Friction Loss of Line
Pump Discharge

If pressure drops 10% or less when you open a line you can flow 3 more of = or < size

If pressure drops 15-25% when you open a line you can flow 2 more of = or < size

If pressure drops 25% or + NO MORE LINES
